Community Council

Community spirit is well established within St John Vianney's Primary School.  The Community Council embodies this community spirit, working with the Principal, Parish Priest, staff and nominated parents who represent and provide leadership to the wider school community.

The Council has a decision-making role in certain policy areas and an advisory role in others. The policies of the school are always set within the mission of Catholic education.

The Community Council undertake projects to assist in the development and maintainance of SJV.

There are 4 focus groups within SJV that assist the council achieve their goals for each year, they are

  • Events and Fundraising
  • Environment
  • Communications
  • Pastoral Care

2018 projects that the Council aim to achieve:

  • Solar Panels
  • Sensory garden
  • Updgrade sound and portable microphone equipment
  • Replacing the hall curtains

2017 projects that the Council achieved:

  • Air conditioning in all the children’s classrooms
  • Shade structure in the playground
  • Redevelopment of the Internal Courtyard
  • Chicken Coop
  • Hall Storage
  • School Marquees
  • SJV Netball Uniforms
  • Ongoing support for Sporting programs and Curriculum items

2016 projects that the Council achieved:

  • Brand new House Banners
  • Upgrading the hall sound system
  • iPad purchases
  • Ongoing support for Sporting programs and Curriculum items
