Banking

School Banking Day at SJV is Thursday

Getting involved in School Banking is easy

All you need to get involved in the School Banking program is a Commonwealth Bank ‘Youthsaver’ account.

You can open an account for your child in one of two ways:

  1.  Online - Visit Commonwealth School Banking website and click on the link to open a Youthsaver account.
  2.  In a Branch - Visit a Commonwealth Bank branch with identification for yourself and your child, like a driver’s licence and birth certificate.

If your child has an existing Commonwealth Bank Youthsaver account they can start banking straight away.

Once your child has recieved their Dollarmite Yellow Wallet and their Deposit Book they are ready to go.  Each week on banking day they will need to place their yellow wallet and book with their deposit into the morning class blue bag.

Their deposit book and wallet with their token will be returned via the blue bag before the next banking day.

Reward Items

Rewards are offered as a great way to keep children motivated and demonstrate the value of saving. Each deposit will receive a silver Dollarmite token. When a child has collected 10 tokens they can receive a reward item.  Different rewards are released throughout the year.

To redeem a reward, students must cut out the corresponding coupon from the Reward Card and hand it in at school along with their 10 silver Dollarmite tokens.

Your child can keep track of balances, number of Dollarmites and more, by downloading the iOS CommBank Youth App and logging on with their own client number and password.

** Some rewards go quickly and students may not be able to receive their award of choice, they will be notified and asked to select another reward**

We are thankful to the parent volunteers who assist with the school banking and appreciate their time and effort.  School Banking at SJV would not be possible without them.
