A message from the Principal and Mrs D's "Thought of the Week"

with Nina De Rosa

Feast Day of Saint Pius X

Who Was Saint Pius X?

Saint Pius X is remembered for his deep faith, simple lifestyle, and care for others. His feast day is celebrated on August 21st.

Saint Pius X reminds us that holiness is found in the little things—praying with love, helping others, and putting Jesus at the centre of our lives. Even small acts of kindness and faith can bring us closer to God.

Saint Pius X was a kind and humble man who became Pope in 1903. He believed that everyone, especially children, should be able to grow closer to God through prayer and the sacraments.

One of the most important things he did was allow children to receive Holy Communion at a younger age, helping them feel more connected to Jesus. He also encouraged people to read the Bible and come to Mass often.

Loving God,

Thank You for the example of Saint Pius X.
Help us to grow in faith and to follow Jesus with open hearts.
May we always be kind, prayerful, and ready to serve others.
Amen.

SJV's Book Adventure - Book Week Parade

What an incredible morning it turned out to be! The children were absolutely thrilled to showcase their amazing costumes, and their joy was truly infectious. A sincere thank you to all the parents and grandparents who joined us for the parade—your support helped make the children feel valued and emphasized the message that reading is fun. Thank you to the enormous effort that was placed in creating such vibrant costumes.

A very special thank you goes to Mrs. Spackman for making the entire week so memorable, and the staff for engaging in the fun. Everyone's efforts and creativity brought five days of exciting, engaging activities that turned the celebration into something truly extraordinary.

Congratulations to Our New SRC Members!

We are pleased to announce and congratulate the following students who have been selected as our new SRC (Student Representative Council) members:

  • Anna and Hanston – Year 5/6J

  • Rohan and Immi – Year 4

  • Lexi and Sukhfateh – Year 3

We are confident that these students will represent their peers with responsibility, enthusiasm, and a strong sense of leadership. We look forward to the positive contributions they will make throughout the year.

SRC Badges will be presented at morning assembly next Friday (29 August)

Athletics Carnival

I’ve just spoken with Mrs. Spackman, who shared how incredible the children were at today’s carnival—despite the rain! Not only did they show up with smiles and enthusiasm, but they ran, jumped, and participated with great energy and spirit.

It’s always a joy to see the values of our school reflected in how our students interact with others. Their sportsmanship, kindness, and support for one another—even in wet and cold conditions—were truly admirable.

A heartfelt thank you to all the parents who braved the weather to come along, cheer, and assist on the day. Your support means so much to us and the children.

Safety! We all need to do our part.

Staff have noticed families beginning to park and stop outside the parking bays during school arrival and pickup. I'd like to remind families that there is no Parking on the red curb as you enter the school grounds (under/near basketball post).

In the interest of student and community safety, please only park in the designated parking bays.  If you need to 'drop' or 'collect' and run - This option is available, if you stop in the drop off zone near the Hall entrance.  Alternatively you are able to wait/gather on the footpath near the  NARAGANAWALI Community Garden and once the children have advised the duty teacher they can walk along the crossing to you.

If you have extended family/friends dropping off or collecting children from school, please remind them of the safety of parking in the designated parking bays.

Please help us enforce these rules with your children by parking correctly.
